It was such a pleasant surprise to see you again at this beautiful space in Hammersmith; I hope you can come over more often! Thank you for reading and for your kind comments!
The honesty and generosity in your writing is both confronting and comforting. This line: 'I also lost something else much harder to pin down; maybe I never had it.' I read it over and over. What is this? What is this? I know what you mean, I think. I feel what you mean. It's mysterious. Will we, can we 'pin it down' if we keep writing deep into it? Love reading you, Sofia. 💙
Thank you, my dear Kathryn, for reading and commenting. I also wonder whether in writing and peeling off the layers one by one, I may get to the core of being. But it's the mystery that keeps me going. and I loved your probing questions - your recommendation of A more Beautiful Question is still in my TBR basket. Thank you for everything - it doesn't really cover it, but it's all I have XX
January is a month of anniversaries both good and sad for me too. Even when I momentarily forget, my body remembers. I feel agitated, lost, sad and don't know why. Then I see the date on the calendar and it is 'oh, I get it now.' I am fascinated by that inbuilt clock we carry within us. All the very best to you, Sofia.
Oh Viktoria, I feel what you say. I always thought that it's because I have the uncanny ability to remember dates that I feel unsettled and sad, but what you say about the inbuilt clock makes a lot of sense: it's the body remembering. Thank you for sharing this illuminating idea. All the best to you too!
To be able to meet this January (of such vulnerable anniversaries) with such tender reflections, speaks also of your incredibly generous heart and strong life-force Sofia 🙏
Dear Helen, I am so grateful for our beautiful writing space and the warm tribe we have. You presence and the space you hold for everyone is invaluable. Thank you for reading and for everything you do for the community.
