How wonderful to visit those Verdi sites - I've been to the homes of Puccini and Wagner, and there is some quality in the air, or there is if you choose to believe in it! A pilgrimage can mean so many things, as long as it has meaning for the pilgrim - you inspire me to plan a trip Sofia, thank you!
A very good point very well made. I am not a fan of opera, perhaps because I have never really experienced it !
But to revisit a book, a play, a story that you already know the ending to, that can bring deeper emotions into play, ones that we usually avoid in our quest for surprises and momentary thrills. What a shallow life we can lead! And thank you for showing the opposite,
It felt good revisiting Aristotle's definition which I think applies to all stories. And I often find that the thrill of finding out what happens detracts from the enjoyment of the book or film; that's how it's always good to revisit. Thank you for reading and engaging!
I need to get back to the opera. Thanks for sharing this lovely tribute, Sofia. I'm so glad you had this meaningful pilgrimage, and I love the image of you "fan-girling."
Opera is such a vast sea, there's always so much to discover and learn, and it feels different every time you dip into it. "fan-girling" felt a bit silly, but as I say 'good-silly'. Thank you for reading!

Did you go to Lucca and Torre del Lago? The Verdi places are well worth visiting if you are a fan. For me it really was the experience of a lifetime.
